My House Style ideas

Music Scene analysis

photoShoot Plan

Having looked at professional photography I have planned my photoshoot for my magazine.

Front Cover Image:
I will take a photo of a person  up against a white background wall. I will consider lighting effects,  and pose of the person.

Contents Page:
I will take another photo against a plain background, this will allow me to cut the person out of the image easier on photoshop to then place into a contents page as a frame/border.

Double Page Spread Image:
I shall consider the use of angles for this shot, taking the shot from a low angle. The shot will also be in black and white, which is conventional and will create an atmosphere and mood for the spread.

Pictures taken by a group by our group around college

This is a close up shot, using the macro feature on the camera to increase the detail on the image.

This shot is a juxtaposition shot contrasting the trees and bushes in the background with the mud and dead grass on the floor

This low angled camera shot of the tree, the sun is in the background.
Low angled shot of the bell, uses rule of thirds as the bell is in the middle third of the shot.

This image is also a juxtaposed shot  contrasting the flower with the dead/cut flowers amonst it.

This is my first Blog of my Music Magazine Coursework for media studies. In this blog i will show you how I have been building up ideas for my Music Magazine.

I am interested in indie/rock music and I like artists such as The Killers, Muse, The Arctic Monkeys etc. Therefore the most natural choice of magazines for me to study are "Q" and "NME".
Q magazine is a magazine aimed at quite an old audience who have a mature understanding of music. Whereas NME magazine is aimed at a younger audience, teenagers-young adults(15-25 years old)

Q Magazine sold 582,000 copies per week between June 2009-July 2010 according to www.nrs.co.uk, 505,000 copies were read by people aged between 15 and 44 years old.

According to www.nrs.co.uk NME magazine is one of the best selling magazines in the UK, it sold 325,000 magazines per week between July 09 and June 2010, 294,000 of these are readers aged between 15-44. Therefore both magazines are big sellers in both terms of music magazines but also in general magazines. Both Q and NME outsell magazines such as"Mojo" and "Top of the pops mag"
